Music Therapy

One does not have to play a musical instrument, or even be musically inclined to benefit from Music Therapy. Music is being used in interventions to address specific behavioral goals. Rhythm, lyrics, and melody provide predictable structure to guide and influence behavior.

Playing instruments can be a rewarding and effective way to improve fine and gross motor skills. In addition, playing in a group can reinforce social awareness and encourage peer interaction. Music Therapy is very unique in that it can address communication, motor, cognitive, and social goals, depending on the individual needs of the client.
