Holland offers Autism courses for parents, educators, service and medical personnel and hosts talks on important and useful subjects and topics at our autism center.

Topic: Hyperbaric Oxygen TherapyPresenter: Michael P. Montico, M.D., Holland Center Medical Director
When: Saturday, March 26th, 2011 4:00PM -6:00 PM at the Holland Center Gym
Presentation will discuss usage of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to treat chronic conditions including: autism, stroke, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, etc. Dr. Montico will discuss role of HBOT in alleviating symptoms, improving immune system response, and enhancing the body's natural healing process.
Topic: ABA/VB: Programming for Meaningful and Lasting Change
Presenter: Troy Fry, MA, BCBA Holland Center Clinical Treatment Director
When: Saturday, March 20, 2010 from 3:00 PM- 5:00 PM in the Holland Center Gym
Presentation will discuss the importance of selecting "impact" responses from the beginning regardless of age or pervasiveness of the disability. Once you establish and generalize those "impact" responses, you can more effectively, appropriately, and systematically address additional responses. Discussion will also include importance of using appropriate tools to establish precise "operant levels" and clearly identify barriers that significantly influence treatment effectiveness. Additionally, the importance of social validity should have on the selection, prioritization & evaluation will be discussed.

Biomedical Interventions Part II. Focus on the core biomedical treatments of autism. The effectiveness & utilization of the treatments for our children. This is a follow up to January's Part I. It is not essential to have come to Part I to benefit from Part II.
